Since moving to the Auburn-Opelika area, I have been searching (desperately) for good Mexican food on par with my favorite spot in Raleigh, NC, Dos Taquitos.

I have found my new home of tasty Mexican cuisine 😋.

A beautiful, sunny Saturday calls for brunch! We woke up to the sun beaming through blinds and no desire to cook. While I make a delish brunch at home, it’s nothing compared to the delightful dishes at Como en Casa.

Having driven by Como en Casa numerous times en route to T.J. Maxx and Ulta in Tiger Town, we decided to try the restaurant that’s only open for breakfast and lunch.

A skinny spicy margarita and crisp Modelo Especial complemented “Huevos Divorcidados,” street tacos, and shrimp empanadas quite nicely. Como en Casa excelled in the dining-out trifecta for me: cuisine, drinks, and service. All were impeccable.

The “Skinny Spicy” margarita combines El Jimador tequila, Cointreau, lime, agave nectar and jalapeño into a delightful dance of flavors in a Tajín-rimmed glass.
